An ambitious project  - 'NEW MULTI-PURPOSE HALL'- for our parish.

It is really interesting to read the news caption, that a new multi-purpose community hall  'Gurudev Bhuvan' got inaugurated in Barkur! On the other end our Parish Priest’s message to the Barkurian's, writes - the work on proposed Hall of our parish going to start very soon.  Really very good news! Now the next important question where it will be..?

As was informed, on the left side of the Church, other side of the road, there is a piece of land belonging to the Church, and this will be the ideal place, if little bit of additional piece of land made available by the neighboring owners, adjacent to this spot, for this purpose. The plan, shape, capacity and the purposes for which it going to serve, will determine the approximate cost of the project, which definitely close to half a crore rupees!!

No doubt, generous Barkurians, and other public minded people will not hesitate to extend their helping hand, in a big way, if approached properly, to this general utility project, as its need was felt innumerable occasions by various people and institutions.

It is a crude suggestion of one of my friend, why cant we have our hall in the heart of the Barkur town i.e. in front of Mary knoll Higher Primary School, (the property adjacent to the School compound is for sale as per our friends information), facing main road in the eastern side...! I too feel, unless a bye-pass ring road is constructed via Kachhur paddy fields, the geo-cultural prominence and convenience, once enjoyed by the Church surroundings, two-three decades back will not be regained!!?How and what will be our parishioners and others reactions to this project..?

All are welcome on this 'Amchen Barkur' Web site...Instead of 'crying foul' at a later stage it is better to discuss and come out with constructive suggestions, right now, as this will be a big project involving almost 40-50 lakhs !!It should be remembered, I aired my opinions, just to encourage all who are taking lead and in a way to make all of us, accountable!!
