Grand Annual Day Celebration at SVVN English Medium School Barkur

An institution providing quality education in rural areas, S.V.V.N., said Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Belapu, after receiving an honour presented by the school at the Annual Day celebration of Shri Vidyesha Vidyamanya National English Medium School, Heradi, where he was the Chief Guest. While addressing the gathering, he appreciated the institution for imparting excellent education in rural regions.

The programme was presided over by Sri B. Shantharam Shetty, Barkur, President of The Barkur Educational Society (R), Barkur.

The dignitaries present on the dais included Smt. Sakamma Shetty, Principal and Secretary of V.I.P. Group of Institutions, Adugodi, Bengaluru; Sri Vittal Shetty Shedikodlu, Vice-President of The Barkur Educational Society (R), Barkur; Sri Rajaram Shetty, Correspondent of the school; Sri Ashok Kumar Shetty, Secretary of The Barkur Educational Society (R), Barkur; Sri Archibald Furtado, Coordinator of the five institutions under the management of The Barkur Educational Society (R), Barkur; Sri Edgar Fernandez, President of the School Parent-Teacher Association; Smt. Likitha Kothari, Headmistress of the school; school alumna Smt. N. Srilatha Bhat; and the School Leader Master Shreesha D.

Students who secured distinction with outstanding marks in the SSLC examination for the academic year 2024–25 were awarded scholarships from endowment funds and incentive prizes sponsored by donors. Students who represented the school at state and divisional level sports competitions and emerged as winners were honoured. Prizes were also distributed to the winners of the entertainment competitions conducted for parents.

Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Belapu, Director of the SCDCC Bank, who donated a xerox machine to the school, was felicitated. Sri B. Shantharam Shetty, Barkur, President of The Barkur Educational Society (R), Barkur and recipient of the “Sahakara Ratna" Award, was also honoured.

Cultural programmes including dance, drama  etc were presented by the students.

The prayer was rendered by students Drithi Shanubhag, Shreya Mogaveer, Vinamratha, Thanushree Udupa, and Shreya.The Annual Report was presented by the Headmistress Smt. Likitha Kothari Sri Rajaram Shetty, Correspondent of the school, delivered the welcome address, while Smt. Aparna Bhat  proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme was compered by teachers Smt. Bridget Gonsalves and Smt. Jyothi Shetty. The teaching and non-teaching staff of the school extended their cooperation.
