Udupi District Educator Recognized for Outstanding Contribution to Yoga Education

Bangalore, September 3, 2025 - In a prestigious recognition of excellence in yoga education, Mr. Ashok C. Poojari from Barakuru has been selected for the state-level "Yoga Shri Award-2025" in conjunction with Teachers' Day celebrations.

The distinguished award is being presented under the leadership of Rotary Bangalore Global Yoga, Rotary Club of Bangalore Kalyan, and Yoga University of the Americas. The initiative represents a collaborative effort between local Rotary clubs and yoga institutions to honor exceptional educators in the field of yoga instruction.
Recognition of Service Excellence
Mr. Ashok C. Poojari, who serves as an Associate Teacher and Yoga Instructor at the Government Higher Primary School in Kodi Kanyana, Brahmavara taluk, Udupi district, has been recognized for his dedicated service in yoga education. He is the son of the late respected educator Sri Chooda Master from Barkur.
The selection acknowledges his significant contributions as the Udupi District Yoga Coordinator through the Yoga and Moral Education Project of Shantivana Trust (Regd.), Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala, implemented in collaboration with the Education Department.

Alongside Mr. Poojari, Mr. K. Narendra Kamath, Physical Education Teacher from Karkala, has also been selected from Udupi district to receive this prestigious yoga education award, highlighting the district's strong commitment to yoga instruction.
