This year youth of Kudru ward along with their senior friends brought some festive cheer to the children and ward members by organising the Christmas tree event on Dec 25, 2025.



Christmas tree program celebrations began with a welcoming note by Gurkar Joseph Fernandes and ward representatives Gretta Lewis and Rippon Dsouza.
Then grand entry of Santa Claus (Avin ) on a motor bike with background music of Jingle bells set the festive mood. After a cheerful dance with children, Santa distributed chocolates to all children; children flocked around him and got hold of as many chocolates as possible . Post that he took all the children to the tree of gifts. The tree had lot of gifts beautifully gift wrapped. Then Children were asked to choose the gift by pointing to the tree and then Santa happily handed over the gifts to the enthusiastic children.



After all Children got their gifts, they were asked to open the wrapper. The joy and curiosity on the faces of the children was heart warming.
Then followed multiple group and individual games.
First was “balloon train” for women. 2 groups of women were made to keep balloons in between them and race against each other. Leera and team won the prize.
Then Kudru men and boys competed on “fastest pen into bottle” game. Joseph Fernandes won first prize and Praveen Dsouza won second.
Then it was games of “word formation” - a game between men and women. This round was won by women with a score of 6:4 against men.
Next game was “balloon in between leg running race” - Avin and Leona won the prizes.
Next was “Sticky notes shake off game” for the children - Aahana and Sanjana won the prizes.
In the much awaited “cracking the pot” (moDki phtanvcho game). Francis Fernandes won this game.
Last event of the evening was “Housie housie” which was cheerfully conducted by Wilfred Fernandes and Robinson Martis.
About 30 children and 30 ward members participated in this beautiful event. Prizes were distributed by Gurkar Mr Joseph Fernandes, Representatives Rippon and Gretta, and Ex Gurkarn Margaret D’Souza.
Snacks and Ice-cream were served during the event.
Peter Dsouza, Joyson D’Souza, Valerian Dsouza, Robinson Martis, Annie Martis, Wilfred Fernandes, Rahul Roche, Roshan Dsouza supported the organisation of the event. financial support was by donations of Kudru Youth.
Day was concluded with a prayer.
Christmas tree event created many fond memories and brought ward members together, thereby making Christmas Day a day to remember.
