Easter celebrations held at St. Peter's Church, Barkur

Barkur, March 31, 2024: Easter celebrations were held with great pomp and fervor at St. Peter's Church, Barkur. The Easter Vigil and the high mass were led by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Ronald Miranda and Resident Priest Fr. Rolvin Fernandes.

The church was decorated beautifully for the occasion. The Easter Vigil service began on Saturday evening and continued till Sunday morning. The service included readings from the Bible, prayers, and hymns. The high mass was celebrated on Sunday morning.

After the mass, refreshments were served to the community. ICYM members organized a Housie Housie game with attractive prizes.

Antony Barkur, a famed name in Konkani literature, was felicitated on behalf of the parishioners by Fr. Miranda along with members of the parish council for his achievements in the Konkani literary world.

In his Easter message, Fr. Miranda said that Easter is a time to celebrate the victory of Jesus Christ over death. He urged the faithful to live their lives in the light of Christ's resurrection.

The Easter celebrations at St. Peter's Church were a joyous occasion for the entire community.
