A heart-touching and memorable function was held at Smt. Rukmini Shedthi Memorial National Higher Primary School, Heradi, Barkur, on Friday, 31st July 2026, combining the distribution of school uniforms and sports uniforms to students with a befitting farewell to the retiring Head Master, Mr. H. Ratnakar Shetty. The programme was jointly organised by the School Management, several generous philanthropic organisations and well-wishers in support of the school.
At 2.50 pm the the children gave a prayerful start with 'Gyana deepava bellagisu....' while Correspondent of the RSMNHES Mr A Ratnakar Shetty retired DFO, extended a warm and cordial welcome to all gathered whereas HM presented roses as a symbol of affection and honour...


The function was presided over by Mr. Gopal Naik, Vice President of Barkur Educational Society, who appreciated the noble initiative of the sponsoring organisations and congratulated the school management for organising a meaningful programme.
In his presidential address, he lauded the selfless and dedicated services rendered by Mr. Ratnakar Shetty during his distinguished career spanning more than three decades, especially his five years and 10 months tenure as HM of RSMNHPS Heradi - Barkur and wished him a healthy, peaceful and fulfilling retired life.




Several distinguished guests, educationists, members of the School Development and Monitoring Committee (SDMC), representatives of various organisations, teachers, parents and students in Mr Prakash Shetty, former President of Yedthadi Panchayat, Sankadi Karunakar Shetty, chairman of School Centenary Celebrations, Udaya Kumar Shetty President Atula Youth Association, Mr Rajaram Shetty Correspondent of SVVN, Mr Srinivas Shettigar Correspondent of National Higher Primary School Hanehalli, Mr Rajgopal Nambiar Correspondent of National High School Barkur, Mr Ramachandra Kamath Correspondent of NITI, Principals, Heads of various educational Institutions under BES management..... and many admirers graced the occasion and extended their best wishes to the retiring Head Master.
The most touching and unforgettable moment of the programme was the farewell accorded to Mr. Heggunje Ratnakar Shetty. Various educational, social and charitable organisations honoured him with shawls, mementoes and heartfelt felicitations in recognition of his exemplary contribution to the field of Education as the Mr Ratnakar Shetty and his wife were draped with traditional shawl, Peta, presented with memento, garland and fruit basket, the atmosphere turned emotional, as speakers fondly recalled his commitment, sincerity, discipline and compassionate leadership that had shaped the lives of countless students over the past 30-plus years.

Mr Prakash Tantri, President of the Old Students Association read out a beautifully worded citation recalling HM's life journey...On this occasion Lion Hansraj Shetty shared his feelings, Prof Archibald Furtado Admin coordinator of National Group of Educational Institutions Barkur profusely thanked and wished the HM a happy and healthy retirement.
The whole program was full of sentiments, gratefulness and emotions presented by Mr Babu Naik, an Old Student of the School and retired HM of Kuradi High School.
Responding to the honours, an emotionally moved Mr. Ratnakar Shetty expressed his profound gratitude to the management, Government authorities, colleagues, students, parents and all the organisations that had showered him with love and affection.
He fondly recollected his long journey in the teaching profession and acknowledged the wholehearted cooperation he had received throughout his career. His moving words touched every heart and brought tears to many in the audience.



Many family members of the retiring HM too were present and witnessed the event.
Earlier, school uniforms and sports uniforms, shoes and Note Books were distributed to the students, bringing smiles to the young beneficiaries.
The organisers gratefully acknowledged the generous support extended by all the sponsoring organisations, namely Heggunje Rajiv Shetty Charitable Trust, Bangalore, Mr Prakash Shetty & M/s Katileshwari Developer's Heradi, Rukmini Shedthi Memorial Charitable Trust, Muskibail, the Lion's Club, Hanglur, Kundapura, Atula Youth Association, the Ananya Sauharda Cooperative Society, the Old Students Association and other benefactors whose contributions made the programme a grand success.
The function concluded with a vote of thanks, by SDMC President Mr Rajendra Jogi, leaving behind cherished memories of gratitude, respect and celebration of a dedicated teacher's remarkable service to society, as a beautiful program concluded with the National Anthem.
