Those early days feel close enough to touch: the excitement of planning the first programmes, the nervous pride of taking on responsibility, the lifelong bonds formed under the lights of the church grounds. Year after year, new faces arrived, older ones moved on, yet the spirit never faded. Today many of those same young people are grandparents, while fresh voices continue the story. Age and distance have only deepened the affection.

Now the golden milestone approaches. In the months ahead the community will gather once more—to honour the journey, to welcome those who once walked these paths, and to celebrate with music and fellowship under the open sky. Alongside the rejoicing runs a quiet purpose: whatever remains after the festivities will help open doors of education for the next generation of Barkur’s children.
