A heartwarming Laity Day service unfolded at St Peter Church, Barkur, with the inspiring message "Jesus is our Redeemer, let's introduce him to all" echoing through the congregation. The service commenced with a powerful invocation by St Devasahayam Pillai, setting the tone for a reflective celebration.


Parish Priest Rev Fr Ronald Miranda led the main celebration, flanked by co-celebrants Rev Fr Antony Andrade and Rev Fr Victor DSouza. The highlight of the day was Fr Victor's electrifying sermon, packed with relatable anecdotes that left the attendees spellbound.


The faithful were urged to actively participate in the 'Laity Mission', a call that resonated deeply with the parishioners. A special prayer was offered, seeking Almighty's blessings on Fr Ronald Miranda, who is celebrating his birthday today.
Laity leadership of the historical Barkur Church, led by Parish Pastoral Council Vice President Mr Joseph Fernandes (Nagarmutt), the Convener of Parish Pastoral Commission Mr Joseph Fernandes (Kudru) and other enthusiastic office bearers and Catholic Sabha President Mr Edgar Fernandes and team as well as Laity Commission took all initiatives to make the celebration meaningful and devotional....
