The prestigious National Industrial Training Institute (NITI), Heradi–Barkur, organised a grand Orientation Programme for the newly admitted students of the academic year 2025–26 on Wednesday, 13th August 2025, at 10:30 AM. The event aimed to warmly welcome the freshers, introduce them to the institute’s ethos, and inspire them to begin their educational journey with confidence and enthusiasm.
The programme began on a graceful note with a hymn, melodiously rendered by Mr Harish Hebbar, followed by Prof Manjunath who anchored the proceedings with poise. Once the dignitaries occupied the dais, Prof Bhaskar Upadhyaya extended a heartfelt welcome to the gathering and presented fresh roses to the guests.
The event was presided over by Shri B. Shantharam Shetty, President of Barkur Educational Society (BES) (R.), Barkur.
In his detailed key note address, Prof Venkatesh Kramadhari, Principal of NITI, outlined the institute’s glorious past, rules and regulations, while emphasising the vital role of parents in their wards’ success. He proudly declared that Barkur NITI holds the No. 1 ranking in the district and enjoys State-wide recognition for its quality education and 100% placement record.
Mr Suresh Kulal, a proud alumnus now serving in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bengaluru, shared nostalgic memories of his student days, crediting NITI’s strong academic foundation and dedicated teachers for his career achievements.
Mr Shedikodlu Vittal Shetty, Vice President of BES, thanked parents for placing their trust in NITI and urged students to utilise the excellent facilities to emerge as the best in their field.
Mr Ashok Kumar Shetty, Secretary of BES and a recipient of the National Best Teacher Award, spoke on the vital role of parents, using real-life examples, to correct and encourage their wards and expressed gratitude to the Principal and staff for their exemplary service.
Mr Krishna Hebbar, Treasurer of BES, highlighted the growing importance of technical education, precisely noting that all diploma holders from NITI secure jobs in reputed companies even before graduation.
Mr N. R. Nagaraj Shetty, President of the NITI Old Students Association and a member of NITI’s very first batch (1985), now a successful entrepreneur and proprietor of Malnad Cashews Industry, fondly recalled his student life. He praised NITI’s balanced approach to theory and practical training and pledged full support to his alma mater, especially as it celebrates its Ruby Jubilee (1985–2025).
Admin Co-ordinator of the National Group of Educational Institutions, Mr Archibald Furtado, profusely congratulated the Principal Mr V. Kramadhari and his team for earning NITI an enviable reputation and thanked parents for choosing NITI for their children’s future.
The dedicated Correspondent of NITI, Mr Ramachandra Kamath, offered valuable advice to students and parents, and expressed heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders for their united and tireless contributions over the past 40 years.
In his presidential address, Shri B. Shantharam Shetty applauded the commitment of the Principal, staff, and alumni, and urged all parents to maintain regular contact with the institute to monitor their children’s progress.
The programme concluded with Prof Nagaraj delivering a warm vote of thanks, acknowledging the presence and active participation of all who made the event a grand success.
