State-Level "Yoga Shree Award - 2025" conferred on Ashok C. Poojary of Barkur

Ashok C. Poojary, son of retired teacher Shri Chooda Master from Barkur, has been selected for the state-level "Yoga Shree Award - 2025" from Udupi district.

The award was presented on the occasion of Teachers' Day under the leadership of Rotary Bangalore Global Yoga, Rotary Club of Bangalore Kalyan, and Yoga University of the Americas, in collaboration with local Rotary and yoga organizations.

Ashok C. Poojary serves as an assistant teacher and yoga instructor at the Government Higher Primary School, Kodi Kanyana, under the Brahmavar block in Udupi district. He is the son of respected retired teacher Shri Chooda Master from Barkur.

The award recognizes his dedicated service in the field of yoga education as the Udupi District Yoga Coordinator through the Yoga and Moral Education Scheme of Shantivana Trust (Regd.) Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala, implemented in collaboration with the Education Department.

Shri K. Narendra Kamath, Physical Education Teacher from Karkala, is another yoga instructor from Udupi district who received this prestigious award.

The award presentation ceremony took place on September 5th, Teachers' Day, at Sir K.P. Puttanna Chetty Town Hall, Bangalore, where both recipients accepted their awards.

This recognition highlights the significant contributions of dedicated yoga educators in promoting wellness and yoga education at the grassroots level in Karnataka's education system.
