Students, Teachers, and Community Come Together for Patriotic Festivities.
Maryknoll High School in Barkur celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The celebration, held on Thursday morning, brought together students, teachers, parents, and community members in a vibrant display of national pride.
The ceremony commenced at 9:00 AM with the flag hoisting by chief guest Mrs. Vivette Lewis. In her inspiring address, Mrs. Lewis highlighted the crucial role of soldiers, teachers, and farmers as the driving forces who lead our nation forward. She extended Independence Day greetings to all attendees and emphasized the importance of remembering those who sacrificed for the country's freedom.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests including Mrs. Lalita, CRP of Barakuru Cluster, Mrs. Lata Ganesh, President of the School Teachers' Association, along with the school principal, joint secretary, teaching and non-teaching staff, students, parents, and alumni.
The celebration was enhanced by beautiful performances that added splendor to the event. Students presented graceful dances accompanied by melodious songs including prayer songs, "Bharata Bhoomi Punya Bhoomi" (India, the Sacred Land), "We are all Indians," and patriotic numbers commemorating soldiers who fought for the country.
The school assembly hall was beautifully decorated with saffron, white, and green balloons representing the colors of the Indian flag. The national flag fluttered proudly in the gentle breeze as children sang the flag song, creating a truly patriotic atmosphere.
The program was expertly anchored by 10th-grade students Haniksha and Sanvi, along with Hindi teacher Mrs. Swarnalata, who kept the audience engaged throughout the ceremony.
The celebration saw enthusiastic participation from all sections of the school community. The presence of former students alongside current pupils demonstrated the lasting bond and pride in the institution's tradition of celebrating national festivals with great reverence.
The event concluded on a sweet note with the distribution of refreshments to all students, adding to the festive atmosphere and ensuring that the celebration remained memorable for everyone present.
This year's Independence Day celebration at Merinol High School Barkur successfully instilled patriotic values among students while honoring the legacy of India's freedom fighters and the ongoing contributions of those who continue to serve the nation.
