The Parents-Teachers Meeting of PU Second Year students at National Junior College, Barkur, was held with warmth and enthusiasm in the spacious Community Hall of the historic campus. For the Principal and staff, it was indeed a delightful moment to welcome parents in large numbers, reaffirming their faith and trust in the institution.

The programme began on a prayerful note with students invoking divine blessings through a melodious hymn. Mrs. Usha Kiran Shetty, the Principal, extended a warm and cordial welcome to the gathering of parents, teachers, and students. The stage programme was gracefully compered by Ms. Sowmya, Lecturer in Biology, who also introduced the entire teaching faculty to the audience.

Mr. Archibald Furtado, Admin Coordinator of the National Group of Educational Institutions, in his address, urged students to "make the best use of the next six months." He highlighted the modern infrastructure and facilities available on the 80-year-old campus and assured parents that a team of well-qualified and dedicated teachers is always committed to providing quality education and the overall well-being of their wards.

Expressing his satisfaction with the nurturing atmosphere of the college, Mr. Raj Gopal Nambiar, President of the PTA, appealed to parents to utilize the opportunities and resources offered by the institution for the betterment of their children. He stressed that the career dreams of students must be understood and supported by parents through encouragement and care.

Mrs. Swathi, Lecturer in Economics, reminded parents that good character cultivated at home is reflected in the college. She emphasized that obedience, discipline, and good manners are integral to shaping a strong personality, and hence a positive environment both at home and in college is essential – "That will be the real beginning of education," she cautioned.

Touching upon some pressing issues, Mr. Umesh Shetty, Lecturer in Physical Education, advised parents to remain vigilant about teenagers' behavior, especially in matters like driving without a license, excessive mobile usage, and neglecting classes and attendance. He urged parents to guide their children to stay focused on their studies.

In his comprehensive and thought-provoking presidential address, Mr. Ashok Kumar Shetty, Secretary of the Barkur Educational Society and proud recipient of the National Best Teacher Award, emphasized that parents, teachers, and students must work hand in hand as collaborators in pursuit of common goals. Quoting real-life examples, he inspired the audience and left a lasting impression with his memorable words: "Make no property for your children, make your children your property." He reassured that the Management will continue to strive to provide a cohesive, value-based, and student-friendly learning environment on the National Campus.

The interactive session that followed provided a valuable platform for teachers and parents to share views, express concerns, and discuss the academic progress of students in detail.

Mr. Sridhar Ullittaya, Lecturer in Sanskrit, proposed a graceful vote of thanks, appreciating the collective effort of everyone who made the gathering both meaningful and memorable. The meeting concluded with refreshments and one-to-one interactions, where parents received detailed feedback on test results and progress reports of their wards.
