The bridge connecting Barkur and Bennekudru develops cracks…..
It was raining dogs and cats since last two days in the State in general and in the Coastal Districts in particular. There are reports of havoc created and damages to houses etc from many quarters.
The most unfortunate news is coming from Barkur, as the Concrete Bridge connecting Barkur – Sharabeedi Kadavu – Bennekudru – Sastan, developed cracks…..and a portion of it already collapsed.
Surely, this will be an alarming call / sign for concerned Govt authorities to wake up and attend the remedial / repair work immediately. It is said stitch in time saves nine, before anything unfortunate happens, better to be careful. Hundreds of vehicles / commuters are crossing through this bridge daily to visit holy Mahastri Temple, and beyond, especially during these festival seasons.
